Vis Taraz is an associate professor of economics at Smith College. She received her B.S. from MIT and her Ph.D. in economics from Yale University. She pursues a research agenda at the intersection of development and environmental economics. Her research focuses on the impacts of climate change in low- and middle-income countries, with a primary regional focus on India, and a secondary focus on Africa. Topics of research include the impacts of climate change on agriculture, human capital, migration, and labor markets.
