

Christopher Hoy
Economist, World Bank
Christopher Hoy is an Economist at the World Bank, primarily working on fiscal policy and inequality. His research has been published in leading journals, including the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, and featured in top media outlets, such as the Economist. Before joining the World Bank as a Young Professional, he was a Research Fellow (the equivalent of an Assistant Professor) at the Australian National University. He has worked in over 20 countries throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific for various organizations, including the World Bank, UNICEF, the Asian Development Bank, ODI, JPAL/IPA, and the Australian Government.

New experimental methods, tested in Indonesia, can more accurately measure tax evasion by firms, revealing both the scale of tax evasion and providing insights into the characteristics associated with higher levels of evasion.
