Jorge Luis García is an associate professor at the Department of Economics of Texas A&M University, as well as a research affiliate at the Institute of Labor Economics and a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He is a labor economist investigating the economic fundamentals driving the efficiency and effectiveness of social policies that tackle poverty in the US and developing countries. Some of his work also uses tools of development and public economics. His research aims to better understand the human capital development and well-being of children and their parents, especially their mothers.
