Lead Economist, Research Department, Inter-American Development Bank

Vanessa Alviarez has been a Lead Economist in the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) since 2020. She earned her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Michigan in 2014 and was an Assistant Professor at the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia before joining the IDB.
