Alonso Alfaro Ureña is a researcher at the Department of Research of the Central Bank of Costa Rica and a professor at the Department of Economics at the Universidad de Costa Rica, both positions held since 2012. He holds a degree in Economics from the Universidad de Costa Rica and an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Economics from the Pennsylvania State University. His work focuses on productivity, trade, growth, and inflation expectations.
