Kia Howson is a social protection and humanitarian researcher with experience across the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia and the Pacific. She is currently a researcher at Start Network, focusing on locally led action, anticipatory action, and conflict research. Kia’s social protection portfolio spans designing inclusive systems and supporting government ministries and other stakeholders to advocate for, design and implement inclusive and adaptive social protection systems globally. Her work ranges from conducting field research and policy analysis to project design, and she frequently shares insights with diverse stakeholders in the sector.
