Marina González Magaña

Senior Program Manager, Crime and Justice Policy Lab, University of Pennsylvania

Marina González Magaña is the Senior Program Manager at the Crime and Justice Policy Lab at the University of Pennsylvania, following the integration of the California Partnership for Safe Communities. Her work bridges research and practice, helping cities adapt evidence-based violence reduction strategies and build sustainable local capacities to reduce community violence. Previously, she served as Policy and Implementation Manager at Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), where she led initiatives to transform policing, including the implementation and rigorous evaluation of Procedural Justice training and the development of the first focused deterrence strategy in Mexico. She holds an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Glasgow, funded by the UK government through the Chevening Scholarship, and is a Fellow of the Open Government Fellowship of the Organization of American States.
