

Ruud van der Helm
Ruud van der Helm (1975; The Netherlands) holds the position of Senior Strategist at the Directorate for Multilateral Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. In this position, he deals with a broad range of institutional and financing reform issues, including the SDG financing and Financing for Development 4. Dr. Van der Helm enrolled in the MFA in 2005 and worked on public finance management reform, macro-economic support and commodities in Africa. He was posted to Ghana and Benin. Since 2019, he has worked on the rolling out the development cooperation portfolio of the Netherlands in the MENA region. He holds an M.Sc. in Systems Engineering, Policy Analysis and Management (Netherlands) and in Environmental Economics (France). He obtained his Ph.D. from AgroParisTech (France) in foresight in policy making.
