Carlo Pizzinelli is an economist in the European Department of the International Monetary Fund. His research focuses on labor markets and structural transformation issues. His works on these topics have been featured in academic journals and IMF publications. He recently co-authored an IMF Staff Discussion Note and two working papers on Artificial Intelligence. At the IMF, he previously worked in the Research Department and worked on country desks in Latin America and the Caribbean region. He obtained his PhD from the University of Oxford in 2018.
