Jean-Benoît Falisse is a senior lecturer at the University of Edinburgh (UK), where he also serves as co-director of the Centre for African Studies and a fellow of the Edinburgh Futures Institute. His research draws on disciplines across the social sciences, including economics, history, and public health, to examine the provision of and access to social services (healthcare, education, and justice) in fragile contexts. Lately, his attention has focused on the consequences of reparation programmes ordered by international justice, such as the International Criminal Court. Jean-Benoit has been working with and for international and national development and civil society organisations in the African Great Lakes region since 2009.
