
Marieke Huysentruyt
Associate Professor of Strategy, HEC Paris
Marieke Huysentruyt is an Associate Professor of Strategy at HEC Paris and an academic affiliate at ideas42 (US) and SITE (Sweden). Her research integrates insights from economics, the humanities, and behavioural science with causal inference methods—including lab, field, and natural experiments—to explore how organizations can become more inclusive, foster social ties, and encourage employees to take sustainability-focused actions. In addition to serving as the Academic Director of the S&O Institute, Marieke is also the Academic Director of the Impact Company Lab, co-founded by HEC Paris and Schneider Electric. Previously, she co-founded and co-directed the Oksigen ecosystem, which supports social business innovation and entrepreneurship. She has also been a faculty member at the London School of Economics and a visiting scholar at Harvard University and the Santa Fe Institute. Marieke is passionate about writing, mentoring PhD and postdoctoral students, advocating for more impactful and engaged research, and developing immersive learning experiences on sustainability-related topics.
