Punarjit Roychowdhury

Associate Professor of Economics, Shiv Nadar University

Punarjit Roychowdhury is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Shiv Nadar University (SNU), a Fellow at the Global Labor Organization (GLO), and a Non-Resident Fellow at the Centre for Development Economics and Sustainability at Monash University. Prior to joining SNU, he held tenured positions at the University of Nottingham and Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore. He holds a PhD in Economics from Southern Methodist University (SMU). Primarily an applied microeconomist, his research interests lie in the fields of microeconometrics, labour economics, development economics, and behavioural economics. His research papers have appeared in well-known international journals including Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, World Bank Economic Review, Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series A, Oxford Economic Papers, Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Development Studies, World Development, Economics of Education Review, etc. Punarjit holds a first-class Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Calcutta, and a first-class Master’s degree in Applied Economics from Presidency College, Calcutta.
