Dr. Md. Mahbubur Rahman leads the Environmental Health and WASH (E-WASH) Research Group at icddr,b. Dr. Rahman's primary research focus is on environmental pollution. Dr. Rahman is a medical graduate with a Master's degree in Public Health and Population Sciences and is currently a Ph.D. scholar at Uppsala University, Sweden. Under Dr. Rahman’s leadership, E-WASH group conducts a wide range of environmental health research in Bangladesh, addressing issues such as water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), heavy metal contamination, antimicrobial resistance, e-waste, microplastics, air pollution from brick kilns, heat stress, water salinity, wastewater surveillance, climate and health and other pressing environmental health issues.
